Windows broken at Ayla Reynolds' home

WATERVILLE — Two windows were smashed out late Friday night at the home of missing toddler Ayla Reynolds, police said in a news release Saturday morning.

No one was injured and police said they did not find any rocks or objects, "leading officers to believe that the windows were broken by a bat or another object that was taken away."

"These types of calls are actually quite serious," said Waterville Police Chief Joseph Massey. "There is a chance that someone could be injured by flying glass. It scares people. And, it could escalate into a confrontation between the occupants of a home and the suspect."

A broken window in the background is one of three windows broken at Justin DePietro's residence at 29 Violette Avenue last night.

Justin DiPietro's Brother Involved In A Fight - One Man Hospitalized

by Rob Poindexter -

Waterville - Waterville Police say the father of missing toddler Ayla Reynolds, Justin DiPietro, and his older brother, 27-year-old Lance DiPietro, were involved in a fight Monday that landed another man in the hospital.

Deputy Police Chief Charles Rumsey said that just after noon on Monday the Dipietros were driving on College Avenue in Waterville when they spotted a man they said had been making derogatory comments about their family.

Police say they stopped the car at in the parking lot of Bill's Tire in Waterville where Lance DiPietro approached the man armed with a miniature baseball.........

edit: Justin Linnell, 22 of Waterville is the victim. He is the father of Ayla’s cousin, but is not married to the mother.

It just keeps getting better.

It just keeps getting better. These people never deserved to have kids in the first place. The poor thing was doomed from the start, in one way or another. That's about as polite as I can say it.

p.s. I just read in the Kennebec Journal that the one that was assaulted is the father of Dipietro's sister's child (but not married to her). Both that sister and her child were present in the house the night the reported disappearance took place.

Here is ...AHUM... '27 years old' Lance DiPietro's myspace website. Looks like Lance ' the gangbang wannabe-something ' at 27 years of age' has avoided maturing into adulthood from teenagehood.

[It takes a couple of clicks when you get to the site, check out his photos]

Bruce Libby:...... Every gang

Bruce Libby:...... Every gang stated w/ wannabes!

Bruce Libby is right.

About 1996 the New York Times had an full page article on the birth of gangs in, Lincoln Nebraska! The article had many quotes from the then-Police Chief of Lincoln Nebraska who said the city as well as his police department admitted they dismissed the first signs of gang 'graffiti' as nonsense, kids playing games. Nothing to be concerned about. Before long city gangs and city gang troubles in the city of Lincoln Nebraska, just google there troubles today.

Also,in the late 1980s i was down in Massachusetts attending a city conference/forum in Brockton,Ma., when the Brockton Police Chief spoke on rising crime in the city and the appearance of 'groups' of teenagers walking around like tough guys. The Chief at the time comforted everyone at that time not to be concerned, the groups of teens were not real groups like in Boston, they were like elementary school level of groups of juveniles walking around.
Fast forward from the 1980s,now in Brockton there are about 20-25 murders a year, many drive by shootings, etc. with real gangs.

This is way off topic but Bruce's declaratory statement was so right.

.Mother of missing Maine toddler threatens to sue DHHS
By Matthew Arco
Feb 14, 2012 12:00 am

Reynolds claims DHHS workers didn't ensure Ayla's safety by conducting necessary checks and reviews, and says her daughter's disappearance may have been avoided altogether if they had.

"DHHS just didn't do their job," Reynolds told The Portland Daily Sun late last week.

"I think if they checked up on Ayla, we wouldn't be where we are today," she said. "I think it's partly their blame."

Lawyer: Ayla’s aunt,

Lawyer: Ayla’s aunt, grandmother telling the truth

Steve Bourget, a general practice attorney in Augusta, said Phoebe DiPietro, 47, and Elisha DiPietro, 23, retained his services in early January, a few weeks after Ayla was reported missing from their home at 29 Violette Ave. The DiPietros approached him to serve as “a buffer between the press and their personal lives,” Bourget said during a phone interview with the Morning Sentinel.

Ayla Reynolds was 20 months old when she was reported missing from her Violette Avenue home on Dec. 17. She was last seen wearing green one-piece pajamas with the words “Daddy’s Princess” printed on them. A $30,000 reward has been offered for information that leads investigators to Ayla. State Police are asking that tips be directed to them at 207-624-7076.

Teen Charged In DiPietro House Attack

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Waterville police ...charged... man in connection with breaking... windows at the home of Justin DiPietro.

Jeremy Hanson, 19, of Clinton...confessed to breaking the windows

Hanson is also charged with violation of conditions of release. That charge stems from the fact that he was out on bail from a state police case where he was charged with driving to endanger, criminal mischief and reckless conduct with a weapon.

The mother seems reluctant to acknowledge her own part in the disappearance. I don't think she went to rehab and lost custody for no reason.

There has been so many twists

There has been so many twists and turns here but I was under the impression that the fact the father had the child had nothing to do w/ DHHS but was a voluntary thing due to Mommy being in rehab.?
I correct myself they ,DHHS, took child and placed her w/ father in October, but wonder if that consisted of any further involvement or placement was end of issue which was mommy !
I would assume that if home setting was acceptable ,father, grandmother etc. it would seem further involvement would be not necessary .

I understand the need to assign blame but at this moment I would vote to not jump on the DHHS bandwagon as of yet.

You could be correct, Bruce.

You could be correct, Bruce. I am going on recall of news reports saying the father had custody of the child.

Either way, it's certainly

Either way, it's certainly worthwhile to criticize the manner in which a mother grieves the loss of her missing child, and to rely on a memory that may or may not be accurate of news reports (that may or may not be accurate) in doing so.

ListenAsec on one count you

ListenAsec on one count you are correct, unfortunately they would just be associated w/ a large number of others that are just like them, the point would be lost on them.

No matter what is reported or how there is no media that can fully expose the huge number of young adults just like this group in our state and everywhere that have been enabled by support systems , social acceptance of their life styles and their dysfunctional lives relationships etc. etc. etc..

Today just like a year or so ago I could walk into the women's areas of MCC and look at a group of female inmates the vast majority of which are similar in age experience and stories! If one goes on the theory that we have only one in ten or more being dealt with in the system it is scary.

It is all related to making choices that are bad to escape or needs that they think will be met. He's a nice guy ,having a baby that will love me will make it better on and on! The drugs are good etc.etc..

Time to go as I sign off I will see my screen saver which is my granddaughter who is just a few days older than Ayla I can never understand this there is no understanding this.

First, I would not take

First, I would not take ANYTHING Trista Reynolds says as truth. Second, if I was caring for a child you're damn right I would say I didn't want to pay child support for that child!

Was Insurance a Motive in

Was Insurance a Motive in Ayla Reynolds’ Disappearance?

The Reynolds family made an explosive announcement on its website devoted to missing baby Ayla Monday. Citing "sources close to the investigation," Ayla's mother Trista Reynolds' family said father Justin DiPietro took out a life insurance policy on the baby only a week after bringing her into his home.

It was about two weeks from the time Justin allegedly insured Ayla's life that Ayla suffered a serious injury in the DiPietro household, one for which he initially delayed getting medical treatment and then defaulted on follow-up care.

For those who are talking

For those who are talking about there being a life insurance policy bought for Ayla: Justin also bought a policy for himself where Ayla is the beneficiary if anything were to happen to him. AND he did not seek out the policy, his best friend of over a decade is in the insurance business and this is his job. He sells insurance for a living, as does his dad. How do I know this for a fact? It was sol...d to Justin by my cousin. And just to put it out there, we bought policies for all three of our children too. If you speak with a financial advisor or insurance person, they will likely explain why it's a good idea, even if, and especially if you have little income. My husband and I did it many years ago on the advice of a friend. It is NOT evidence against Justin of a crime. It is what parents do. Especially if their best friend is in that business and is approached about it.

Ok, call me dumb, but why is

Ok, call me dumb, but why is a smart thing to take out life insurance on your kid? We have life insurance on ourselves to make sure our kids would be taken care of if anything happened to either one or both of us, and we also named a guardian. We did that as soon as we knew we were expecting. But take a policy out on the kid? Or is it some kind of savings plan for an education, like Gerber life, or whatever they are?
