Unemployment compensation

I have noticed recently that the usual monthly Labor Statistics reports are devoid of the number of those claiming unemployment compensation. There were millions of manufacturing jobs lost to foreign countries and extensions of the limits on unemployment compensation made the news as the government kept extending the time one could collect. Now we seem to hear nothing. Are the payments still ongoing despite the limits? It would certainly account for the continued deficit as the welfare state continues to grow. It would also account for the lack of an uproar from those whose payments were stopped.

My bad. What I should have

My bad. What I should have said is that these numbers are not being broadcast by the government's propaganda machine as they were in the past because they cannot be proud of the fact that more and more people are being unemployed. They aren't bragging about the number of jobs being created either, because they don't even absorb the numbers of new entrants into the job market minus those leaving because of retirement.

I also neglected to mention the pensions being assumed by our government for those whose companies went out of business and like the government did not fund these pensions but paid them out of current income. No income, no pension.
