And so she issues a call to the locals to beg her to "come home and save us!"

Besides; Lance needs a paying gig.

Who'd give up a Senate gig?

Who'd give up a Senate gig? If not for the US Senate John McCain would be wandering through the streets of Phoenix wearing nothing but a bathrobe mumbling to himself.

Didn't I hear a rumor about Alzheimer's medications being delivered in person to Congressional offices?

The Susie political machine

The Susie political machine rakes in millions. The reason your bank and mortgage companies can scr#w you with impunity is because Susie and Senate make sure that nothing inhibits their theft.

Pretty good investment if you are looking for influence - a Senate seat in a low population state.

So sorry to hear she is

So sorry to hear she is staying in the swamp. I was hoping the Senate seat would become open for a REAL Republican. Then I could practice my old Gordan Liddy tricks on her governor campaign.
Frankly, I wouldn't give her toilet space.

Somebody like Scott D'Amboise

Somebody like Scott D'Amboise will step forward and have much more support this time. Scott did a great service to Maine.

And an arrogant Fake

And an arrogant Fake Republican at that. She thinks she would have won the primary and general election handily if she had decided to run for governor. I believe she would have never won the primary.

At least the RINO Olympia had sense enough to get out before she was basically toast.

At this point it came down to

At this point it came down to zero risk vs. significant risk, as to legacy and her exit strategy.

She continues to get ships

She continues to get ships built at BIW. She's extremely influential in everything else. I"m so glad she's staying. She has a conscience, unlike LePage and the other Republican idiots.

On further thought, any

On further thought, any Senator who would not support ships being built at BIW would be a political idiot.

Here's the choice Suzie faced.

A) Stay in a high profile slot where you are treated like royalty, and you can posture yourself in what ever way necessary to maximize your popularity, all while being assured that you can keep the position for another 20 years or more, or until you die, which ever comes sooner. And with each re-election, your seniority and power increase, especially if you have Trump as a whipping boy for 7 more years. You can become Maine's Bobby Byrd or Teddy Kennedy.

B) Give up the above and the adulation it provides, knowing your future in the office is 8 years max, and that a good portion of the local riff-raff will complain about your every act. And that red carpets and velvet robes are not part of the State House protocols.

Considering that there are

Considering that there are only two shipyards capable of building destroyers, I would not call it a hard thing to do, to get some ships at BIW, even Pingree could pull that off.
Susie is finally relevant and free to inflict more harm on the country. Maybe cupfactor can tell us which life experiences Collins has that qualify her to make laws for us. Made a payroll, lived under the government's constant regulations, I wonder what kind of meds she is on

Islander, not sure what you are getting at. I have never seen her do anything that qualifies her to even become the local dogcatcher. Unless bloviating is a qualification.

Conscience? Seriously? She is Dr. Gosnell's best buddy and he is serving life without parole for killing kids. Hundreds of kids; maybe thousands.

Suzy is desperate to get back

Suzy is desperate to get back to minority party status. That way she can reap the benefits of the position while not being expected to actually do anything. She is well on her way to making that happen.

Apparently not only for Roger

Apparently not only for Roger but for those that are democrats, IF they are in their own country, once the refugees flee the US bombs then they are sacrosanct.

I voted for Susan a few times

I voted for Susan a few times, only because the alternative is worse.

Please remember, the best friend of a republican is a democrat and vice versa.

Without each other, they have nobody to point the finger at.

Americans who voted for Trump, are sick of the status quo.

Bad mouth LePage all you want, he's done a great job getting Maine back on a budget and digging the state out of debt.

When he came into office, the state owed Maine hospitals hundreds of millions of dollars, the state retirement plan was insolvent and the credit rating was near the bottom.

Now all those problems are fixed and LePage is sure to remind all of Maine about those when he boots status quo Angus King from office in 2 years.

If so how come my bank cashes my check every month ?

That was just an inaccurate choice of terms IMO.
Yes , there is issues with all defined benefit plans that can be argued , but ours was not in solvent .

Proof that long held opinions never change and those holding them have never been successful in addressing issues with system !
Which many of "pigs at the trough " have for years been in favor of changing.
