NEW: Criminal Referral

NEW: Criminal Referral Confirms Nunes Memo’s Explosive Claims Of FISA Abuse

The FISA warrant application to spy on a US citizen in hopes of sweeping up some his contacts relied on the Steele/ Clinton dossier and the credibility of Mr. Steele, not on verification of any of the assertions therein, nor vetting of the so-called sources.

Steele Took Info From Clinton Pals (Reported Elsewhere To Be Close To Sidney Blumenthal)
One memorandum by Mr. Steele that was not published by Buzzfeed is dated October 19, 2016. The report alleges REDACTED as well as REDACTED Mr. Steele’s memorandum states that his company “received this report from REDACTED US State Department,” that the report was the second in a series, and that the report was information that came from a foreign sub-source who “is in touch with REDACTED, a contact of REDACTED, a friend of the Clintons, who passed it to REDACTED.” It is troubling enough that the Clinton campaign funded Mr. Steele’s work, but that these Clinton associates were contemporaneously feeding Mr. Steele allegations raises additional concerns about his credibility.

So, who was it that used deception and foreign sources to influence the voters in 2016?

#10. “If you push a negative

#10. “If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.“

Alinsky

Democrats tell us what they're up to by charging the other side of the exact same thing.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Citing

WASHINGTON (AP) — Citing national security concerns, the White House on Friday formally notified the House intelligence committee that President Donald Trump is “unable” to declassify a memo drafted by Democrats that counters GOP allegations about abuse of government surveillance powers in the FBI’s Russia probe.

Right on cue, Schiff's move gets its desired result and media narrative.

Mel, yes, this is far from

Mel, yes, this is far from over. Now we see how/if the Dems clean up the document so Trump can release it. Meanwhile, the likes of Larry Sabato is opining that the American people will see Trump's move as an effort to keep the whole story from them. Sheesh. What a creep.

Here's an article that fills in some of the holes, this time by looking at John Brennan's role in all this.

How CIA Director John Brennan Targeted James Comey
Lee Smith writing at Tablet.

Why is John Brennan still so mad at James Comey? Because from Brennan’s perspective, the target of the information operation commonly referred to as Russiagate wasn’t just the 2016 GOP candidate. Sure, the Obama administration spied on the Trump team, but they regularly spied on their political opponents. Brennan’s CIA spied on U.S. Senators, a fact he first lied about and then grudgingly admitted to Congress and apologized for. The Obama White House abused the foreign intelligence surveillance system to spy on opponents of the Iran deal. Obama’s National Security Council staff had a 15-year CIA analyst, Ned Price, briefing—and purposefully misleading—the press and public, which had no idea he was a spy, regarding Obama administration policy. The White House spied on the Trump team. The point is that the main target of Brennan’s campaign was Comey.

At some point, despair sets

At some point, despair sets in that we will never see our way through all this to the "other side."

I think of Gruber and his "wisdom."

I begin to believe that Trump had no idea just how wide, deep, and infested the swamp is.

People like Clapper, Brennan, Koskinen, and the like just ooze with untrust-worthiness when they appear. And confidence that they cannot be held to account.

This is an interesting piece

This is an interesting piece on Flynn......makes one ponder if obama and Kerry couldn’t be charged under the Logan act for discussing goverment policy as private citizens with foreign government.... particularly Kerry and his conversations with Palestinian officials.....http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/byron-york-comey-told-congress-fbi-age...

The Schiff memo has hit the

The Schiff memo has hit the streets and is coming up short in its effort to discredit the Nunes memo.
Here's Andrew McCarthy's evaluation of the Schiff memo.

The Schiff Memo Harms Democrats More Than It Helps Them

It confirms that the FBI and the DOJ relied heavily on uncorroborated, third-hand, anonymous sources in their FISA application.

The point here is NOT that there was no basis for an investigation into how/if Russia attempted to influence the American election.
Clearly there was a basis for that investigation.

The point is, the DOJ applied for and obtained a FISA warrant to conduct electronic surveillance on a US citizen, and obtain his past communications, without probable cause.
That ought to concern civil libertarians and all Americans who value the protections of the 4th Amendment,

Mainemom, there was a day when the Democrat party was very concerned about those things, just like free speech. Now it appears that they just want to control and will do whatever it takes

I really think there are many

I really think there are many partisans who have a movie in their head showing that Trump and Putin schemed to hack the DNC emails and leak them to Wikileaks, in return for Trump going easy on Russia vis a vis sanctions.

This movie is so real to them that they view FISA and the 4th amendment as of secondary importance to ridding our wonderful country of the Trump corruption.

However, I don't believe Adam Schiff has this move in his head. He knows better. Everything he is doing for partisan advantage.
