Let them have it

What does North Korea want? The same thing every country wants and that is self-sufficiency without having to sell their non-reproducible assets (mineral wealth) to achieve it. In order to achieve this, they must reunite with South Korea which has the reproducible wealth in the form of its agriculture.

The Soviet Union wangled its way into the Pacific war with Japan, contributed little, if anthing to the end the conflict and stupidly the United States agreed to give hegemony of the northern half of what was a united country to the Soviet Union who in turn abandoned it to the Chinese. The north attempted to unite the country in the early 1950s but were thwarted by our presence and stupid strategy of attempting to reinstate the unnatural status quo. Neither side gave up their attempt to reunite the country and the only reason the North is threatening us is because of our support of the government of South Korea.

North Korea is not a threat to invade the United States. Like ISIS, the Taliban, Al Kaida and the Irish Republican Army they commit terrorist acts in order to get us to mind our own business and allow them to fight their real enemy be it Sunni, Shiite, or the Irish Republic. It is the later civil war that the British intervened in which prevented the Catholics and the Protestant Irish to settle their dispute and brought terrorism to Britain, just as our intervention in Israel has brought terrorism from both Sunni and Shiites on the U. S. and countries that actively support Israel.

The obvious solution is to pull our troops from South Korea and let the Koreans figure out how to settle any argument between the North and South just as the Southern States did with the North in our own civil war. That dispute had nothing to do with slavery but was a battle between those who wanted to retain States rights and those who wanted a strong central government. The Swiss settled this issue centuries ago when they decided on federation with the Cantons, retaining essential autonomy from a central authority. We would have done well to follow their example. The framers designed such a federal republic with the original Constitution but the greed of those who wanted a strong central government emasculated the pact starting with the very first Congress.

None of this makes very much difference because overpopulation is rapidly outpacing natures ability, even with human intervention, to feed the growing population. It has occurred already in many countries who have neither the agriculture to support their populations or the assets to purchase it from those who have a surplus. It has already started here, being saved only by massive welfare that still leaves many behind. It is exacerbated by an economic system that distributes natures wealth unevenly through the government tax system.

If you read my two books, The Real Economy and the Constitution, a Document Steeped in History and a Compromise Devoid of Promise, you will understand what it is that the politicians did and how they did.

The real question is why

The real question is why someone with such dominant certainty DNA hasn't gone to Las Vegas (or Oxford, or Bangor, etc) to make enough to pay off the national debt.

Or at least written a book on how to do it yourself.

If that's too risky, how about sports book?

Oh snarky snarky poo poo.

Oh snarky snarky poo poo.

I take you seriously, pmconusa. I appreciate your taking the time to set the table and I don't have to agree to appreciate.

I see things a little differently. I see North Korea as nothing more than a cap gun. Great big caps, maybe. The kid holding the gun is China. China is out to show the world that it is the dominant super power, financially, militarily and politically, and it's time for the US to go lay in the corner and lick it's nuts.

The US' diplomatic hands are tied until China gets Kim to quit with the shenanigans or we drop our drawers and give him whatever he wants.. The US could try a preemptive strike but not without the blessing of China who, alternatively, have a defense treaty with NK. The single exception might be if Kim goes over-rogue and pulls something stupid against the South and it involves US forces. Even then it would have to be a measured response with China as the referee. China isn't building it's 'research' islands for nothing.

Tax Foe: Exactly. If North

Tax Foe: Exactly. If North Korea invaded South Korea, they would not use any of their nuclear weapons or even missles because they would be ineffective in substantially denting the South Korean defense. I don't see North Korea with the moral high ground here and against the South would have a hard time motivating its troops in a ground war, which I see the South as winning and finally uniting the country. It would be a homogenous population but like Japan, will ultimately succumb to the economic system employed by every government in history. It is a war the Chinese this time will stay out of and they only help North Korea now to insure it keeps its population in North Korea. If the two sides were united China would be better off because the threat of a refugee invasion from North Korea would be eliminated. South Korea's agricultural base and industrial might would insure the bulk of the North Korean population be better off under the government of the South.

You will note our fellow AMGers Bruce and Mel never have an original thought or retort in rebuttal of my analysis and take swipes at my books, that neither one has ever read.

First I have numerous times

First I have numerous times stated that you are the the truth . There is no need to retort or discuss your views since they are
the truth on the subject.
Second one cannot rebut your analysis since it is absolutely correct.

You do not want any retorts or analysis and have proved that by every time it is attempted you declare the individual stupid,
influenced by progressives, soemthing is unconstitutional and your other declarations .
