How will Question 2 turn out?

It seems virtually certain that Question 2 (Medicaid expansion) will pass by large margins. But how large? I haven't seen any public polling, so I'm just going off of political intuition and conversations I've had with activists and politicians on both sides.

I say 54-46.

Of course it will pass.

Of course it will pass. Where will the money come from? The same place it always comes from, the money supposedly put aside to fund the state employees pension fund. Raise taxes, not on your life although that is what the legislature is required to do to pay for government activities. The problem, as with the federal government, the government was never empowered to become a charity and therefore providing Medicade is not a government responsibility nor are food stamps, and EBT Cards, etc., etc..

The pro-life folks will turn

The pro-life folks will turn out, but the pro-death supporters outnumber them in Maine. There was a time when we had vice squads in Maine and child molesters, gamblers and perverts went to jail. Now such things are taught in our public schools. There is an adjustment coming and such people will be disappointed after it takes place.

Molestation, gambling and

Molestation, gambling and perversion are taught in public schools? Imagine that.

Maybe Ek is talking about what happens in the football and wrestling locker rooms?

Not sure even where to start with this one... maybe I'll just let it sit there and grow mold

Roger: Do not be discouraged

Roger: Do not be discouraged. Your predictions will come to pass a lot sooner than some people think, particularly those who have benefited from our corrupt society. I've come up with a pretty accurate estimate and it is within the lifetime of your great grandchildren. I don't have any which is why I shouldn't care but I do because I still have family and they, like lemmings are being led to this abyss by the Progressives who have had control since the turn of the 20th century.

Why do they always run these

Why do they always run these types of initiatives in off-year elections?

Very likely because too many

Very likely because too many working men and women don't take the time to vote in off-year elections unfortunately. They don't realize the harm that is done to us/our state with some of these initiatives.

What are the predictions for a southern maine casino?

Having two others already, Maine must be rolling in the dough.

@PressMan: "What are the predictions for a southern maine casino?"

I'm considering putting together two new ballots:
1) Make all casinos illegal except for a 2/3 majority in the legislature (b/c I'm tired of voting no on all casino refs)
2) Make all political signs on public grounds (like onramps, stop signs) illegal. Of course, you can trash your own front lawn if you want, but if it's a public place, why does everybody have to look at your stupid political sign?

A few years back I was coming

A few years back I was coming into town on High St and my view south on Rte ! was entirely blocked by political signs. So I just put the car in park, got out and laid every stinking sign down on the ground and resumed my journey.

That's what I thought the results would be early this summer, but I've been impressed with the campaign run by the Welfare to Work PAC. They're focused, disciplined, and have a good presence on the radio and on social media. I think it'll shave 3-5 points off of what the margin of victory would have been.

You can still put whatever you want on your own property. But a public space has shared rules. Is graffiti covered by the first amendment? Can I spray paint whatever I want anywhere?

No. And it's not a violation of the first amendment.
