A House ethics subcommittee says Waters, 71, improperly intervened in 2008 with federal regulators to help get bailout funds for a bank that her husband owned stock in and on whose board he once served, said NBC and other media reports. Waters also once held stock in the bank.

Formal charges are not expected to be announced until next week, according to several congressional officials

We can't fix stupid..... but we don't have to pay for it. Let's hope that she and rangel both retire with the dignity that obama says they deserve........

IMO it would be best for all of us if they would just go away... with no retirement. If proven guilty they should do the same jail time as any other peon, and maybe even pay for the cost of the trial. Does anyone know if we get to pay for both sides costs?

I doubt that even if a congressman or senator is convicted of a crime or forced to resign that they lose their pension or other benefits..Maybe I'm wrong.

She won't need to say that. Other people will carry that water for her... and Rangel:

Here's an example.

There’s a “dual standard, one for most members and one for African-Americans,” said one member of the Congressional Black Caucus, speaking on condition of anonymity.

I've little doubt there's a dual standard. But I'm betting it goes the other way: other members are extremely wary of charges against CBC members because doing so would appear racist.

Here's hoping the charges against Waters are accurate and they stick. She's done enough damage to the country.

What a clip! I hope they play it at the Waters Trial!

Quote from Waters: "It's about time! The American public does not appreciate double standards! What's good for the goose is good for the gander (ouch!) No one should be so big (members of the Black Caucus) so important, so powerful that they can violate the rules of this House and the laws of this country without suffering the consequences!"
